Suzhou Suyun Cloisonné Art Co., Ltd. was established in 2012 as a cultural enterprise dedicated to the preservation and innovation of the intangible cultural heritage technique of cloisonné (Jingtailan). Leveraging the rich artisanal heritage of Gusu District, Suzhou, the company blends Ming and Qing imperial craftsmanship with the literati aesthetics of Jiangnan, specializing in its "Literati Cloisonné" product line. With annual sales exceeding 30 million RMB, its products are exported to over 20 countries, including France, Japan, and the United States.
The core team is led by Zhou Bingyi, a national-level intangible cultural heritage inheritor, serving as artistic director, and comprises 12 master artisans in R&D. The company holds six utility model patents, including the "Wire-inlay Curvature Control Method" and "Multi-layer Transparent Glaze Layering Technique." In 2023, in collaboration with the Suzhou Museum, it launched the "Wu School Painting" themed series, integrating the landscape artistry of Shen Zhou and Wen Zhengming into cloisonné craftsmanship. Individual pieces command prices up to 12,000 RMB, with select works permanently collected by the British Museum.
